WELCOME TO CAMPBELL STREET!

We welcome you to the Campbell Street church of Christ in Jackson, Tennessee.  We are an evangelical, non-denominational church that is devoted to the teachings of the Bible.  We strive to reach out to the West Tennessee community as well as the entire world.  It is our goal to love Jesus and share the love of Jesus just as our motto states.

If you are new or already living in the West Tennessee area we would love to have you as our guests.  If you are passing through the area we would also love to have you stop in and worship with us.  If you have any other needs please contact one of our staff ministers, elders, or deacons through the contact list on the left.

Please join us in worshiping our Lord and Saviour!

What To Expect

Public Prayer
There will be times during the worship when an individual will lead the assembly in prayer.  We offer prayers of praise, remembrance, guidance, repentance and encouragement throughout our worship gathering. During prayer, we usually stand or sit (the audience will be given directions as to which) quietly with heads bowed.

Singing

You will notice there are no instruments. That'snot an accident. Our singing emphasizes simplicity, participation, and community. Words and notes to thesongs can be found on the proper page in the songbookin the pew racks. The words to the songs will also bedisplayed on the screen above the podium.

Communion .

Each Sunday we remember the death andresurrection of Jesus. We eat small pieces of bread toremember the physical body that He surrendered to death, and we drink the grape juice to remember His blood givenfor our forgiveness. Communion, also called the Lord'sSupper, is a memorial act for Christians to observe. Ifyou feel comfortable in doing so, we invite you to join usin this special memorial.

Offering

Containers will be passed to collect the weeklyfinancial offering. As our guest, you are welcome to makea donation if you'd like, but feel perfectly comfortable injust passing the plate down the row if you prefer.

Preaching

Usually part of each worship period will bedevoted to preaching from the Bible. At the end of thesermon, the speaker will offer an opportunity to cometo the front of the auditorium during a special song toexpress any need requesting special attention of thechurch. There may be no response, or some may askfor prayers. This is also a time when people may confesstheir faith and be baptized into Christ to become a part ofhis body...to become a Christian.

Our Beliefs

Our church is a community of believers with Jesus Christ as its head. We seek to love, respect and care for one another as a demonstration of our love for God.

Our outreach is to those who have no church home. Many in our area are disillusioned with religion. They have felt the sting of legalism with its impossible demands. Some have seen hypocrisy. Others have had no religious background and therefore see Christianity as irrelevant. The missing element has been healthy relationships with mature believers in Jesus.

Our vision is to reach our community and make a difference in the lives they live through the good news of Jesus Christ.
We believe we can accomplish this through helping people discover God's purpose for their life through teamwork, creativity and excellence.
